Say hello to my little friends.

Chances are someone you know has made friends with Alex and Ani. But if you haven't been properly introduced, then let me be the first.

Alex and Ani is an innovative jewelry company whose mantra is providing it's wearers beautiful symbols of positive energy and empowerment. They offer an assortment of jewelry, from rings to necklaces to earrings, but I'm most infatuated with their bangle bracelets. Their designs are simple and elegant and can be worn by themselves or layered with lots of different types of bracelets. And, for those of us with infamous "man hands," they were kind enough to make their bangles expandable for fuller figured hands!

I'm loving these bracelets and the multitude of styles, symbols and finishes you can choose.

The elephant in the room.

'Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house,
Elf on the shelf has been flying to and from 'round the house.
The gifts have been wrapped with the utmost of care,
Nine maids a milking 'til the in-laws are there.
One final weekend with friends for yuletide cheer,
The perfect White Elephant gift? The search is here!

Everyone has someone in their family that is impossible to buy for, right? So in the search to find the "right" gift for that special/impossible someone, it is always fun to shop for a very wrong gift. Ah, the coveted best white elephant gift. Here's what I've found!

Hollywood Hotties:
I'll admit that the last five movies I've seen have been animated, so apparently I missed the boat on Nicolas Cage being a heart throb! Yes, this is an actual pillow case you can purchase on Amazon. And the best part is, there are several other Cage options!
Source, $15

Pola Roll
Doesn't everyone want to have a camera pointed at them when they're in the potty? Pola Roll to the rescue!

Source, $26

Face/Butt Towel
Although supposed to be silly, this gift actually may have some merit. I mean, when you think about it, it does make sense, right?!

Source, $19.99

Rotary Phone
Your kids may have no idea how to dial it, but a retro phone is always a hit.

source, $30

Prank Gift Boxes
Prank Packs are actually ridiculous gift boxes to put other gifts inside. Perfect for a white elephant party. You can put something funny and ridiculous in them or maybe throw the crowd for a surprise and put a nice bottle of wine in them.

source, $7

Sippy Wine Glass
Yeah, I'd fight for this. Genius and funny.
source, $20

Bacon Rug
Everything's better with bacon. Except maybe home decor.
source, $15

Ridiculous Coffee Table Book
A coffee table book of really funny (and real) photos.

Ab Hancer
Any item that prints a testimonial "chicks dig it" right on the box has gotta be good.

Personalized T-Shirt
And of course, the personalized white elephant gift. I mean, who wouldn't want a t-shirt with YOU on it?!

What Does The FOX Say?!?

If you don't know what the fox says, you best find out! It's a valid question and since the fox hasn't quite got the physical presence of something like a moose or deer then you may not think of him as part of this taxidermy craze that's been going on in design either. It would have never occurred to me to mount a little fox head above my fireplace. Just not the same effect! But the fox has got something alright and I kinda like his slyness. You decide if you are gonna let the fox speak to you!

I was in Target the other day and came across these notably fox worthy bar ware items....

Or what about these cute fox inspired Target items?! The fox fits right in with the big bad elephant (the elephant says "toot", by the way) and the zebra!

Look at this little VIXEN!!! Did you know that a vixen actually is a female fox?!? Look it up! My husband just came in and gave me that little tid bit of fact! Fits right with this cute little getup. I think this costume is adorable!! I wish my daughter would let me "fox" her up in this little number.

Also recently had a fox sighting in Anthropologie! If you follow me on Instagram you saw me post this cool knob!

Fox Hook

And of course if you search Etsy for foxy finds you will never come up short on creative ways to show off your fox obsession!

If you have not seen Fantastic Mr. Fox, you need to! My kids love it although it has more adult humor in it then anything else. There is a shop on Etsy called The Black Sheep Studio who makes these cute prints inspired by this movie and I think they are so stinking cute!!

Could you not see a boy's room done in these cool prints or a very fun office with the fox prints above from Loopy Lolly?! Who is gonna let me do a room inspired by the fox?!

There are some places the fox should not go.... For me, this is one of them. Lets keep the fox obsession on the outer garments please!! For the record, not my bum... for better or worse, it's just not!

Happy fox hunting!

Cheers!! {Laura}

Unique Fall Finds: Cozy + Affordable Lighting and Kick-Butt Rain Boots!

I've come across some finds that I'm loving for fall!

The first is a hanging light I found in a little boutique in Angola, IN. The shades are made from thin quilt-like material and each one has a unique design. They are hard-wired lights, but I'm pretty sure you could use a light kit to make them into plug-in pendants if you don't have the option to hard-wire them. I paid about $100 for my light, which I thought was relatively reasonable for a light. But then this weekend I found them for $39 at Arhaus Furniture!

Arhaus even offers a smaller size for $29. Because each shade is unique, Arhaus doesn't sell them online, but all the stores carry them. The quilted shade gives off a warm glow - perfect for cozy fall nights!

My other fall find is really a necessity. Football season has begun and for some reason it ALWAYS seems to rain during my kids' football games! I found these cute Nomad rain cowboy boots! They are comfortable and they look great even when you're not standing in a football field. They come in a variety of fun patterns and are available in a short and tall version. The tall version retails on the Nomad website for $57 but you can find them cheaper at places like Amazon or 6pm.

Nomad "Yippy-Green Flower Power"

And my most favorite find so far this fall. . . Domino Magazine, of course! So happy to see it back on the newstand!
